The Role
Teaching Personnel is looking to recruit a dedicated and enthusiastic Year 5 Teaching Assistant to join a welcoming primary school in the Vale of Glamorgan.
This is a long-term opportunity supporting the class teacher in delivering engaging and inclusive lessons while helping pupils develop academically, socially and emotionally. You will play a key role in supporting learning across the curriculum, encouraging confidence, independence and resilience.
Your Responsibilities

Support the class teacher in delivering engaging and interactive Year 5 lessons.

Provide one-to-one and small group support to pupils who require additional guidance.

Assist pupils with literacy, numeracy and wider curriculum activities.

Help create a positive, inclusive and well-managed classroom environment.

Support pupils with a range of learning needs, including those with Additional Learning Needs (ALN).

Prepare classroom resources and learning materials.

Monitor pupil progress and provide feedback to the class teacher.

Build positive relationships with pupils, staff and parents where appropriate.

Encourage positive behaviour, independence and a growth mindset.

About You
We're looking for someone who is:

Passionate about supporting children in Key Stage 2.

Patient, caring and enthusiastic.

Experienced working with primary-aged children in a school or similar setting.

Confident supporting pupils with literacy, numeracy and classroom learning.

Able to build positive relationships and encourage pupils to achieve their best.

A positive team player with excellent communication skills.
