Job description

A LITTLE ABOUT MYSELF

I am a 6-year-old girl living in the Aberdare area. I enjoy getting out and about and doing lots of different activities. Some of my favourite things to do are going to the cinema, visiting the beach and spending time at local parks.

I also enjoy swimming, so I would like my PA to be happy to come into the swimming pool with me and support me while I am there.

I am non-verbal and communicate using Makaton. Showing me pictures can also help me to understand what is happening and what is expected of me.

I am generally very calm and happy and when we are out in the community I like to use my disabled buggy. I also wear a safety waist leash to help keep me safe when we are out and about.

I have ASD and suspected PICA, which is currently undiagnosed. This means I may try to eat things that I shouldn’t. You will need to keep a close eye on me, particularly when we are out and about, and help keep me safe. I am double incontinent and will require changing and personal care. I will need my PA to provide this assistance sensitively and discreetly.

PURPOSE OF JOB

To support me both at home and out in the community, helping me to stay safe and enjoy activities and outings.

HOURS OF WORK

3 hours per week school term and 6 hours school holidays.

Sunday’s Term time and non-term to be discussed.

RATES OF PAY

£15.30 per hour + mileage.
