Job description
Teaching Assistant Brent based Primary School seeking experienced teaching assistants to join them in September 2026. We are seeking a confident, resilient and nurturing Teaching Assistant to provide dedicated 1:1 support for a child with additional needs. This role is ideal for someone with experience supporting children with Autism (ASD) and ADHD, who understands the importance of consistency, clear boundaries and positive behaviour strategies. Your Role as a Teaching Assistant: Provide dedicated 1:1 support for a child with ASD and ADHD, helping them access learning and reach their full potential. Use calm, consistent and structured behaviour management strategies to support emotional regulation and engagement. Build a trusting relationship while maintaining firm and clear expectations. Adapt learning activities to meet the child's individual needs, working closely with the class teacher and SENCO. Encourage positive social interactions, independence and confidence throughout the school day. Support transitions, sensory needs and routines to ensure the child feels safe, settled and ready to learn. Who You Are: Patient, resilient, calm and proactive. Confident in setting clear boundaries while building positive relationships with children. Experienced supporting children with ASD and ADHD, ideally within a primary school setting.
