Salary Scale: £130 - £180 per day (Depending on experience)

GSL Education Hull Branch are currently seeking a Supply Teacher to work across a range of supportive and forward-thinking secondary schools in York. We are looking for adaptable, confident, and dedicated educators who can deliver high-quality teaching, quickly build positive relationships, and maintain excellent standards of learning across different classroom settings.

Supply Teacher Role:

The successful Supply Teacher will deliver engaging lessons across a variety of secondary subjects, ensuring continuity of learning in the absence of the regular class teacher. We are looking to recruit a Supply Teacher who can adapt to different school environments, manage classrooms effectively, and inspire students to remain focused and engaged in their learning.

Supply Teacher Responsibilities:

• Deliver pre-planned lessons or adapt teaching to meet the needs of different classes where required
• Maintain a positive, inclusive, and well-managed classroom environment that supports effective learning
• Assess student understanding during lessons and provide feedback to school staff where appropriate
• Promote positive behaviour and uphold each school's policies and expectations
• Adapt quickly to different school settings, subjects, and student needs
• Work collaboratively with teaching and support staff to ensure a smooth learning experience for students

Supply Teacher Requirements:

• Qualified Teacher Status (QTS/QTLS) or an equivalent recognised teaching qualification
• Experience teaching within a secondary school setting across Key Stages 3 and 4
• Strong classroom management and excellent communication skills
• A flexible, organised, and professional approach to working in different educational environments
• A commitment to delivering engaging lessons and promoting positive student outcomes
• An up-to-date CV covering the last ten years (with any gaps explained)
• An enhanced DBS certificate registered on the update service, or willingness to apply
