About the Role

Supporting learners to navigate their specialist subject to maximise their academic and/or professional development, with relevant and engaging content, aligned to the subject and learning objectives.

Utilise your industry skills and experience to design and organise your short course, including any associated administration.

With an awareness of related activities, resources and events in the East Midlands you will deliver and manage your short course to make a positive contribution.

Build rapport with learners through an enthusiastic and confident approach to delivery. The courses are fee paying - so an emphasis on customer service and value for money is paramount.

You'll receive a management fee for preparing and delivering your short course, this will be discussed and negotiated with Aimee Bollu.

For more details, please take a look at the role profile. We'll still consider applications even if you don't meet every single one of the requirements, so don't be put off if you don't match them perfectly.

Next Steps

If you have an idea for a short course please apply and submit your proposal as part of your application. Please refer to the guidance document below for support constructing your proposal.

Within the application you will be asked to answer specific questions about your proposal, however we encourage you to upload your proposal into the Cover Letter section, as a Word or PDF document, when submitting your application.

This advert is part of a rolling recruitment campaign which means applications are always accepted and proposals are reviewed regularly. You will be contacted regarding your proposal and, if it is deemed potentially feasible, invited to meet to discuss in more detail.

For informal enquiries please contact Aimee Bollu, Short Course Manager on or by email at .

About our Courses

Our principle is that we change lives by championing a civic, as much as an academic mission, and we are committed to our role helping to transform society. We run an impressive portfolio of short courses that take place during the daytimes, evenings, weekends and summer holidays. We offer a vibrant learning atmosphere that encourages creativity and experimentation in our short course students, whether professionals enhancing their CV or beginners taking their first steps.

You can read about the courses at

Knowledge Exchange is fundamental to our University, reimagined strategy, developed through consultation with local stakeholders. Our ambition is to be a widely acknowledged force for good in economic, social and cultural development.

Safe and Inclusive

At NTU, we continue to build an inclusive culture that encourages, supports and celebrates the diverse voices and experiences of our students and colleagues. We welcome the unique contributions that you can bring and we encourage people from underrepresented communities and backgrounds to apply to join our team.

Please note that unfortunately, this role has been assessed as ineligible for sponsorship under the UK Visas & Immigration points-based immigration system. However, applications are welcome from candidates who do not currently have the right to work in the UK, but who would be eligible to obtain a valid visa via another route. Please consult the Home Office website for further information.

Please note that this role is covered by the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act and successful applicants will be asked to declare any unspent criminal convictions.

Please note that if your role includes teaching 15 – 17 year olds and as we have cross campus roles available depending on your campus allocation, if successful you may be required to undertake an enhanced application process and a Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) check.

Any information you provide will be treated in confidence and only used when considering your suitability for the post.
