Vehicle Technician

GT4 Sussex are based in Funtington, just outside of Chichester, West Sussex. We are looking for an experienced and qualified vehicle technician to join our busy workshop. We look after both private and trade customers which encompasses a vast range of the car market from small city cars to campervans and motorhomes, pre war classics to cars that are still under manufacturers warranty. In addition, GT4 Sussex are part of the well known and respected Good Garage Scheme.

The applicant must have the enthusiasm, drive and foresight to carry out the days work without being prompted. The applicant must also have a good understanding of all aspects of vehicle and engine servicing on a wide range of vehicles, diagnostics and repair. This will regularly include but is no means limited to cambelt and water pump changes, coolant changes, brake system servicing/replacement, clutch replacement, and air conditioning services/repairs. For the right candidate, there is also a chance to help out in a separate part of the company. In this area they can learn and carry out some fabrication work to some “special” sports cars. For this, a basic knowlege of welding in MIG or TIG is useful but not essential.

The applicant must hold a valid driving license, be well organised, tidy, and have their own hand tools. The applicant must be able to carry out a wide variety of tasks, all while paying attention to detail and taking care around the vehicle they are working on. The applicant must hold relevant qualifications in motor vehicle service and accrued at least three years recent experience.

Gt4 Sussex are offering this as a full time and permanent position. Working hours are 8.30am to 6.00pm Monday to Friday with an hours lunch break. The applicant may be asked to work occasionally on a Saturday as overtime. They will receive 4 weeks paid holiday per year plus bank holidays.
