We're partnering with secondary schools across Sunderland that are seeking dedicated English Teachers to join their teams on a full-time basis.

This is an exciting opportunity to work in schools where staff are valued, professional development is encouraged and students are supported to achieve their very best. Whether you're teaching Shakespeare, analysing modern texts or developing creative writing skills, you'll play an important role in shaping students' futures.

The role

  • Teach English Language and Literature across KS3 and KS4
  • Plan engaging and differentiated lessons
  • Monitor attainment and support pupil progress
  • Foster a positive and inclusive classroom culture
  • Work collaboratively with colleagues and support staff
  • Maintain high expectations for behaviour and achievement

We're looking for

  • QTS or equivalent teaching qualification
  • Recent secondary English teaching experience
  • Strong communication and organisational skills
  • A genuine passion for English and education
  • An enhanced DBS on the Update Service (or willingness to obtain one)

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
