Job Title: Early Years Practitioner
Location: Sheffield
Pay Rate: £460 - £600 per week (depending on experience)
Start Date: September 2026
Contract: Full-time/ Part-time, Day-to-day/ Long-term

GSL Education South Yorkshire Branch are recruiting enthusiastic Early Years Practitioner for vibrant schools in Sheffield. This role is perfect for individuals who are passionate about supporting young children's learning and development through engaging activities, nurturing care, and purposeful play. You will help lay the foundations for lifelong learning while creating a safe, stimulating, and inclusive environment.

The EYP will support children's educational, social, and emotional development by delivering high-quality early years provision and working collaboratively with teachers and families to ensure every child reaches their full potential.

Early Years Practitioner Responsibilities:

  • Support the delivery of engaging play-based learning activities in line with the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS)
  • Foster children's communication, social, emotional, and physical development through everyday interactions
  • Create a safe, stimulating, and inclusive learning environment where children feel valued
  • Observe, monitor, and record children's progress to support their ongoing development
  • Encourage positive behaviour, independence, and confidence through consistent guidance
  • Build effective relationships with colleagues, parents, and carers to support each child's learning journey

Early Years Practitioner Requirements:

  • Experience working with young children in an Early Years, nursery, preschool, or school setting
  • Good understanding of the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) framework
  • Caring, patient, and enthusiastic approach to supporting children's development
  • Strong communication and teamwork skills
  • Commitment to providing high-quality early years education and care
  • Enhanced DBS on the update service (or willingness to apply)
