We are seeking an experienced and proactive School Business Manager to join a successful federation of primary schools in Hackney. School Business Manager Responsibilities
· Lead on all aspects of finance, HR, and operations across the federation’s schools.
· Manage school budgets, financial planning, and reporting in line with statutory and local authority requirements.
· Oversee premises, health and safety, and administrative functions to ensure efficient day-to-day operations.
· Support the Headteachers and Senior Leadership Teams with strategic planning and resource management.
· Line manage administrative and support staff, ensuring a culture of excellence and collaboration.
· Liaise with external partners, suppliers, and local authority services to maintain compliance and value for money.
· Contribute to the ongoing development and improvement of federation systems and processes.
School Business Manager Requirements
· Proven experience as a School Business Manager or in a similar senior administrative or financial role.
· Strong financial management, budgeting, and HR knowledge (CIPFA, AAT, or equivalent qualification desirable).
· Excellent leadership, communication, and organisational skills.
· Ability to work strategically across multiple sites.
· Commitment to the federation’s vision of inclusive, high-quality education for all pupils.
· Understanding of safeguarding, GDPR, and school compliance frameworks.
