Job description

We’re looking for qualified lawyers to bring their real-world experience into the classroom as a Lecturer or Senior Lecturer within our Law Academic Team at our Moorgate campus.

This role is ideal for solicitors, barristers or lawyers who are ready to step away from fee-earning and use their professional expertise to shape the next generation of legal professionals. You’ll be part of a supportive academic community, delivering high-quality, practice-focused teaching across our professional and academic programmes. Our delivery model operates on a 5-over-7-day working pattern, which may include evenings and weekends, reflecting the flexible way our students learn.

Reporting to our Academic Management Team, you’ll teach across a range of programmes including the LPC, SQE, BPC, PGDL/MAL, LLM in Legal Practice, LLB, Professional Skills and other postgraduate and professional courses. Depending on your experience, the role may also involve conducting Higher Rights of Audience assessments.

We welcome applications from lawyers across all practice areas. In particular, we’re keen to hear from qualified solicitors and barristers with experience in practice who are motivated by teaching, mentoring and passing on the realities of legal life beyond the textbooks.

  • Contribute to effective design and review of inclusive learning; maintain quality standards and regulations in curricular design.
  • Routinely communicate complex and conceptual ideas to those with limited knowledge and understanding as well as to peers using high level skills.

Is this you?

  • Sufficient breadth and depth of professional experience in the relevant discipline to develop teaching programmes and learning support.
  • Professional, credible, commands respect.

Requirements for Lecturer Positions

  • Undergraduate degree or equivalent in a relevant subject.
  • Fellowship of Advance HE (HEA) or equivalent or willingness to work towards it.

Requirements for Senior Lecturer Positions

  • Postgraduate qualification or equivalent in a relevant subject.
  • Fellowship of Advance HE (HEA).
