Tradewind Recruitment is working with a welcoming and diverse secondary school in Brent that is seeking a SEN Teaching Assistant to join their team ASAP. This full-time, long-term role is ideal for a degree-qualified individual with a compassionate, proactive approach who is committed to helping students with a range of learning needs thrive both academically and personally.

About the Role :

As a SEN Teaching Assistant, you will :

Provide one-to-one and small group support for students with a variety of special educational needs, including autism, ADHD, speech and language difficulties, and learning delays.

Assist students in accessing the curriculum across a range of subjects, including English, Maths, and Science.

Work closely with the SENCO, classroom teachers, and external specialists to implement individual education plans (IEPs).

Support behaviour for learning, emotional regulation, and social development within the classroom.

Help to adapt resources and teaching strategies to meet the diverse needs of students.

Monitor and record student progress, reporting back to the SEN team and contributing to regular reviews.

What We're Looking For :

A UK degree (or equivalent) is essential.

Experience working with children or young people with SEN, ideally in an educational setting.

A calm, patient, and empathetic approach with strong behaviour management skills.

Excellent communication and teamwork skills.

Ability to adapt quickly and work flexibly in response to student needs.

A good understanding of safeguarding and the importance of inclusion in education.

GCSEs (or equivalent) in English and Maths (Grade C / 4 or above).
