We’re looking for a proactive and detail-oriented Bookkeeper to join our growing team in Walthamstow, London. This is a full-time, on-site position supporting the day-to-day financial operations of our busy construction business.
As our Bookkeeper, you’ll play a key role in maintaining accurate financial records, managing accounts, and ensuring everything runs smoothly behind the scenes. You’ll be working closely with company leadership to track expenses, prepare reports, process invoices, and support budgeting and tax preparation.
Key Responsibilities:
- Record and reconcile daily financial transactions
- Manage purchase and sales invoices
- Process subcontractor and employee payments
- Track expenses and job-specific costs
- Maintain payroll records and support PAYE submissions
- Prepare monthly financial summaries and support reporting
- Use accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, Xero) to maintain accounts
- Assist with VAT returns and end-of-year accounts
Requirements:
- Experience in bookkeeping or accounting, ideally in the construction or trades sector
- Familiarity with QuickBooks, Xero, or similar platforms
- Strong organisational and time-management skills
- Attention to detail and accuracy
- Ability to work independently and take initiative
- Understanding of UK tax, VAT, and CIS regulations (preferred)
