About the vacancy
We are looking to hire a Fire Safety Team Leader, to assist in the delivery of a professional compliance service, ensuring all aspects of statutory technical compliance relating to fire are supported appropriately and undertaken correctly.
Specifically, in the role you will :
- To support the Fire Safety Manager to ensure Hedyn complies with its statutory Fire Safety duties.
- To ensure Fire Risk Assessments (FRAs) are carried out within defined timescales and arrange access for Fire Risk Assessor’s.
- To be involved in the development and management of a Fire Door (FD) database that captures the FD Risk Based Inspection Programme.
- To develop and run projects, utilising project management skills and reporting back on progress and findings.
- Review Fire Safety Actions and / or FRA significant findings - assign appropriate remedial actions to relevant persons within Hedyn.
- To support the development of Fire Strategies and recording these.
- Manage escalations of Fire Safety actions, and to escalate these to the Fire Safety Manager, where support is required.
- Manage, and administer, electronic compliance systems and produce clear and accurate reports.
- Prepare consultant and / or contractor briefing documents and specifications to assist in Procurement activities.
- To develop and review specifications for fire safety projects.
- To contract manage, monitor and report on the delivery of cyclical fire safety maintenance-related contracts.
- To manage and strategically oversee the delivery of FD inspections / works, ensuring fire door data is centralised in one system.
- To line manage Fire Safety Technicians and Fire Safety Electrical Engineers.
- To allocate work appropriately to the Fire Safety Technicians and Fire Safety Electrical Engineers.
- Strategically contribute to the development of policies and operational procedures.
- Maintain an up-to-date compliance database, providing reports when requested.
- Review and provide fire safety reports to colleagues across the business.
- To develop new and existing fire safety processes.
- To deputise and cover the Fire Safety Manager during periods of absence.
- Coordinate and facilitate meetings between contractors, safety consultants and Hedyn.
- Play an active role in developing team relationships both internally and externally.
- Work collaboratively with colleagues and stakeholders.
- To always work in a safe and appropriate manner to meet the duties and responsibilities within the Health and Safety policies and procedures of the association.
