A fantastic opportunity has arisen for a Business Improvement Officer in Children and Young People Services. We are seeking to recruit an outstanding professional to lead on a range of exciting service redesign and improvement projects.
A self-starter with solid research experience and excellent relationship management skills, you will be a driving and influential force behind the service improvement work for the Children and Young People Directorate (CYP).
The role
- To take a lead role in developing, negotiating and implementing credible solutions, through the assembly of facts, weighing up of evidence, development of options and presentation of recommendations to decision makers.
- To bring about positive directorate improvements that will enable improved outcomes for children and young people and their families.
- To deliver service improvement collaboratively with children and young people, their parents / carers and family, professionals, key partners and the community.
- To take a lead role in preparing the directorate to be ready for inspections, reviews and audits.

What we’re looking for
We are looking for a solution-focussed individual with extensive knowledge of issues faced by children, young people and families and local government policies to help us scope, design, and plan service improvement work. The ideal candidate will have major research, consultation and policy development experience and will be well-versed in project management methodology and techniques. You will be tasked with designing and delivering inventive change ideas that will drive improvement in quality and effectiveness in the directorate, challenging the status quo and building for the long term.
Location
The job is primarily based in Laurence House, but we operate a hybrid approach where you will be required to work both in the office and from home on a regular basis.
