Job overview
We are seeking to recruit a Band 6 Junior Sister / Charge Nurse. The candidate will be a motivated and experienced Critical Care Nurse who is dependable and dedicated to delivering the highest standards of nursing care. The working hours would be Monday-Sunday day shifts and night shifts on internal rotation, full-time or part-time.
You will be based on the ICU at the Royal Albert Edward Infirmary. The ICU is an 11 bedded unit, delivering the highest standards of Adult General Intensive Care. We’re a small and friendly, mighty team.
Please note : Candidates will only be shortlisted if they have a valid NMC registration.
Main duties of the job
To ensure a high standard of care is delivered by the nursing team within the critical care environment through the provision of evidence-based practice.
Provide support to the unit manager and senior colleagues in the management and organisation of the unit.
Provide clinical and managerial expertise.
Play a key role in co-ordinating and developing the nursing team.
To provide support to the unit manager in ensuring all staff comply with Trust policies and professional and legal standards.
Person specification
Qualifications
- ENB 100 or equivalent accredited Critical Care course
- Evidence of teaching / assessing
- Evidence of continuing professional development since registration
- Critical Care National Competency Level 3
- Critical Care National Competency Level 4
