Teaching Personnel are looking for a resilient and highly skilled Special Educational Needs (SEN) Teaching Assistant to join our village school, supporting a Year 6 pupil with complex needs. The child is currently on the pathway for an ASD diagnosis and presents with significant behavioural challenges.In this position, you would be providing 1 : 1 support, focusing on emotional resilience, well-being, and self-regulation. The pupil will primarily work outside the mainstream classroom, and your support will be key in helping them develop appropriate responses to challenges and build coping strategies.Those who have experience in the following areas would be of particular interest : Youth workSupport work & residential careLearning mentor in primary environmentPrison officers / tutorsWorked in the armyGraduates from relevant disciplines (Psychology, sociology) The role requires someone with experience in managing difficult situations, particularly with individuals who may struggle to engage with authority figures. Skills in de-escalation and creating structured, supportive environments will be invaluable in this setting.All applicants will require the appropriate qualifications and training for this role.
