M&E Quantity Surveyor

Are you a skilled and experienced M&E Quantity Surveyor looking for your next challenge? We are seeking a dedicated professional to join our team and play a crucial role in managing project finances and contractual relationships. Also referred to as a Cost Consultant or Commercial Manager, this role requires a high level of commercial and contractual awareness to ensure the financial success of projects.

The Role :

As an M&E Quantity Surveyor, you will be responsible for :

Preparing, submitting, and agreeing on Interim Applications and Final Accounts.

Submitting and agreeing on Variations, Dayworks, etc., with the Main Contractor / Client.

Managing Sub-Contractor Interim Payments, including site measurements, Payment Notices, Pay Less Notices, and Final Accounts.

Liaising with Contract Managers for the procurement of Sub-Contract packages and preparing related documents.

Monitoring the progress of works and providing support where necessary.

Preparing and issuing contractual notices and correspondence to Clients, Suppliers, and Sub-Contractors.

Developing cash flows, monthly cost reports, and budget analysis.

Conducting monthly Commercial Reviews and presenting findings at Project Review meetings.

Reviewing contract documents and ensuring compliance.

Person Specification :

We are looking for a candidate with the following qualifications and attributes :

Industry applicable ONC / HNC / BSc or equivalent qualification.

At least 8 years’ experience in the construction industry.

Mechanical & Electrical experience is desirable but not essential.

Strong competency in Microsoft packages, particularly Excel.

A self-motivated and passionate professional with a 'can do' attitude.

Excellent communication skills and customer-focused approach.

Strong problem-solving abilities and the foresight to anticipate issues early.

Ability to handle multiple clients, forms of contract, and methods of measurement.

Flexibility and ability to meet tight deadlines.

Resilience under pressure and ability to perform in high-pressure situations.
