Ready for a Better Work–Life Balance Without Leaving Your Profession?
If you’re a registered healthcare professional looking to move away from hands-on clinical shifts but still want to use your clinical expertise in a meaningful way — this could be your next step. At PFAS, you’ll apply your professional judgement in a structured, supportive environment where your evenings and weekends are your own.

More than a job, a career with purpose. No night shifts and unpredictable rotas, just a clear, focused Monday–Friday role where your clinical knowledge directly supports fair decision-making.

What Makes This Different?

  • Structured, inclusive training programme
  • Ongoing clinical support
  • Clear development pathway
  • £1000 salary uplift after your first 6 months and a further £1000 salary uplift after 12 months
  • Up to 10% quarterly bonus
  • £1,500 employee referral scheme

We invest in our clinicians and we reward performance!

What You’ll Be Doing

  • Conducting structured telephone, video or face-to-face assessments
  • Exploring how a claimant’s condition impacts their daily living
  • Reviewing and interpreting clinical evidence
  • Producing detailed, high-quality written reports
  • Applying professional judgement in line with regulatory standards
  • Working towards quality and productivity targets
  • Delivering assessments in a respectful, fair and reassuring manner

This is an analytical, report-focused role. It suits clinicians who enjoy critical thinking and structured environments.

This Role Would Suit You If You:

  • Have strong clinical reasoning skills
  • Are confident writing detailed, evidence-based reports
  • Can interpret complex medical information
  • Are comfortable using IT systems and Microsoft Office
  • Want predictable working hours
  • Are open to structured training and accreditation

This role may not be the best fit if:

  • You prefer hands-on clinical care
  • You dislike report writing
  • You are uncomfortable working towards targets
  • You are seeking a fully remote role

Essential Requirements
We cannot consider applications without:

  • A recognised qualification as a registered healthcare professional(RGN, RMN, RNLD, Paramedic, Physiotherapist, Occupational Therapist or Pharmacist)
  • Current NMC, HCPC or GPhC registration
  • Membership with the relevant professional body (where applicable)
  • Minimum 12 months’ post-qualification clinical experience
  • Eligibility to practise in the UK

What You’ll Receive

  • £40,000 starting salary
  • Up to 10% quarterly bonus
  • Performance-related salary uplift of £2,000 within year one
  • 25 days annual leave + Bank Holidays
  • Company pension scheme matched up to 6%
  • Life assurance
  • Westfield Health Cash Plan
  • Professional subscription subsidies
  • Employee Assistance Programme (including confidential counselling)
  • High-street discounts
  • Moving Day Leave
  • Volunteering days
  • Environmental initiatives
  • Free eye tests every 2 years
  • Free annual flu vaccination
  • £1,500 “Recruit a Friend” bonus

Structured Training & Inclusive Support
You’ll complete a comprehensive, inclusive training programme designed to support you in transitioning into the Functional Assessor role. Ongoing clinical oversight and feedback ensure you feel confident and supported as you develop in post.

Make an Impact
As a Functional Assessor, your clinical expertise helps ensure fair, accurate and evidence-based decisions that directly affect people’s lives.

If you’re ready to use your skills differently — without sacrificing stability or balance — apply now or contact our recruitment team for a confidential discussion.

Our Commitment to Inclusion
At PFAS, we value and promote diversity and are committed to equality of opportunity for all. We are proudly Disability Confident employers and as such we will make reasonable adjustments at interview through to employment for our candidates and strongly encourage applications from a diverse candidate pool.
