Job description

Teaching Personnel are seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Higher Level Teaching Assistant (HLTA) to join a welcoming and supportive primary setting in Northumberland (NE49) . This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced HLTA who is passionate about helping children reach their full potential.

About the Role:

The successful candidate will:

  • Deliver planned lessons to whole classes in the absence of the class teacher.
  • Support teaching and learning across key stages within the primary phase.
  • Work closely with teaching staff to prepare and deliver engaging learning activities.
  • Provide targeted support for individual pupils and small groups.
  • Contribute to the wider school environment and uphold high standards of behaviour and engagement.

About You:

We are looking for someone who:

  • Holds a HLTA qualification or has significant experience covering classes.
  • Has strong classroom management skills and the confidence to lead whole-class sessions.
  • Is adaptable, dependable, and committed to supporting pupil progress.
  • Builds positive relationships with pupils, staff, and parents.
  • Has an up-to-date DBS on the Update Service (or is willing to apply for one).

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
