We have an excellent opportunity to join our Engineering department as a Motor Vehicle Technician to support the management team in the delivery of an outstanding student experience.As a Motor Vehicle Technician you will support students in the workshop to develop their vocational skills and ensure that the teachers you are working with have the resources and support needed to deliver outstanding lessons.Responsibilities include :

• To support students in the workshop to develop their vocational skills
• To ensure that the teachers you are working with have the resources and support needed to deliver outstanding lessons
• To assist the management team and teaching colleagues in delivering high learning value, financially efficient programmes (including physical resource and budget management) and to lead on innovation and efficiency in the delivery of learning
• To support the behaviour management of students in the workshop and across campus – ensuring their health, safety, wellbeing and conduct is in line with college and departmental policies and ethos
• To help students develop modern, safe working practices and behaviours – in both technical (vocational skills) and employability skills.
• To ensure that the specific locations you are responsible for are at all times professional in appearance and inspection ready
• To proactively develop and promote close links with employer / industry partners – including suppliers
• To support supervision and management of students on placements, offsite visits and related activities
• To model our expected behaviours, and act as a professional advocate for our students, our college values and the departmental ethos. • Minimum of level 2 in a relevant vocational qualification
• GCSE 4 – 9 or equivalent level 2 qualification in Maths or be prepared to pass a test before the interview to demonstrate level 2 ability and then if appointed achieve within an agreed timescale
