The Senior Accountant is directly responsible for the analysis of the current performance of the business, developing reporting methods, and highlighting areas for improvement.
Accounting
1. Plant lead on technical accounting and tax topics
2. Recommend improvements to systems as necessary to provide up to date and meaningful information.
3. Provide data on budget variances for managers to measure their respective plans and forecasts with actual results and spending. Provide assistance to managers to understand their trends and variances.
4. Preparation of monthly, quarterly and annual reports and schedules for company and group in line with accounting policies. Preparation of annual audit and support for Company tax schedules as required for audit and statutory accounts.
5. Supervision of Treasury functions and preparing accurate Cash flow forecasts
6. Preparation of annual Long Range Plans and quarterly revisions, submission to Corporate office and review with Division Management.
7. Supervision of VAT and annual tax returns
8. Submission of monthly, quarterly and annual data via Onestream system.
9. Maintenance of Cost Savings database and provision of information on monthly basis, member of the Cost Reduction team.
10. Responsible for Receivables and Payables balances.
11. Responsible for ensuring the units Sarbanes Oxley compliance and reporting this to Senior Management. Including Reporting unit Process Narratives.
12. Responsible for ensuring that all actions contribute positively to the Company’s overriding objective of quality by complying at all times with any relevant procedure, which pursues this aim. Any other duties as required
13. Maintain high levels of professionalism and positive work ethic
14. Able to communicate with non financial managers, and explain variances, problems and solutions
15. Available as a back up for the Financial Controller
16. Project work as appropriate and other duties as assigned
17. To maintain confidentiality of all work and personnel matters.
