HR Manager

40,000-£50,000(DOE), Bradford, BD5, Working hours 37.5, Monday to Thursday 7.45-4pm, Friday 8-3pm, 30 minute lunch break, 20 days holiday plus bank holidays, increasing with service.

Due to business growth and expansion we are currently recruiting for this brand new HR Manager role. You will be joining a rapidly growing and reputable engineering group in Bradford. Due to the increase in business demands we require a Group HR Manager to take full responsibility of the HR functions and provide hands on support across the group of companies helping to build the business, streamline processes and maintain an efficient HR function moving forwards. This is will be an interesting and varied role for the right person, one that you can really build and make your own.

HR Manager Responsibilities :

  • Review current policies and procedures and suggest improvements where possible
  • Review and rewrite job descriptions, roles and responsibilities across the group
  • Examine all current employee contracts and ensure fully up to date and in line with policies
  • Manage sickness and attendance reporting
  • Conduct and manage appraisals and performance reviews
  • Implement and make improvements on current HR Policies and procedures
  • Provide Employee Relation support and advisory services where necessary
  • Help to support business strategies and operational decision making
  • Assist and support in the move from a small to medium sized business
  • Take on adhoc projects
  • Implement new time and attendance software
  • Process employee weekly and monthly payrolls including overtime, SSP,SMP SPP etc. including holiday, pensions and other deductions
  • Organise Christmas parties and social events

Requirements :

  • CIPD qualified or equivalent
  • Previous experience in a similar Human Resources role
  • Experience in a manufacturing or engineering environment would be beneficial
  • Up to date knowledge of all HR laws and legislation
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Proficient IT skills
  • Good people management skills
  • This HR Manager role would suit someone who has a strong understanding of employment laws and legislation and has worked in a similar environment as a HR Manager, HR Generalist, HR Director or HR Specialist. We are looking for a true human resources professional, you will ideally be CIPD qualified with a number of years experience managing the full HR function of an SME.
