Role Overview

Rapid7 is seeking talented students to join our engineering teams in Belfast for their placement year. As a Data Engineering Intern at Rapid7 you will :

Have the opportunity to put your current knowledge into a real life work environment where you will build, maintain, and release internal data products by writing code and solving problems

When required, partner with internal teams such as Analytics Engineering, GTC Analytics, Marketing, Product and more who work deeply with our data products to ensure we are understanding our customers needs

Work towards developing a deep understanding of our data products, systems, and tech stack in order to best support our customers

Follow team's agile methodology

Successful candidates will be :

Currently enrolled at one of our partner Universities and in your 2nd year studying Computer Science, Software Engineering, Computer Engineering or a related discipline displaying a strong academic record and seeking a 12 month placement opportunity (June 2025 - End of May 2026)

Currently residing in Northern Ireland and have the Right to Work within the UK

Excited by technology, curious and eager to learn new data engineering technologies such as SQL, Python, AWS, Terraform, Snowflake / Data Lakehouses, Airflow, Fivetran and more

Excellent problem solvers

Able to display strong communication skills both within the team and cross functionally

Collaborative team player who has the ability to partner with others and drive toward solutions

You will have weekly 1 : 1’s with your manager and have a dedicated team mentor throughout your placement

We are a hybrid working model at Rapid7 however, we encourage our students to be in the office as much as possible to help their development and building their network. Every team varies on working hours / model but you will be able to discuss this with your manager.
