Job description

The Opportunity

An exciting opportunity has become available for a Supply SEN Teaching Assistant to join a welcoming and well-established specialist provision supporting pupils aged 4 to 18. This setting caters for children and young people with a range of additional learning needs, including autism, communication difficulties, and social, emotional and behavioural challenges.

The school prides itself on creating a nurturing, structured environment where pupils feel safe, valued, and motivated to learn.

About the Role

Working closely with experienced teachers and support staff, you will play a vital role in helping pupils access education and reach their full potential.

Your responsibilities may include:

  • Providing 1:1 and small group support tailored to individual needs
  • Assisting with the delivery of personalised learning activities
  • Supporting pupils with emotional regulation and behaviour strategies
  • Encouraging independence, confidence, and social development
  • Adapting to different classrooms and age groups across the setting
  • Promoting a positive and inclusive learning environment

  • Previous experience working with children or young people (SEN experience highly desirable)
  • A patient, resilient and empathetic approach
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
