Secondary School Teacher
Location: Newport, South Wales
Pay Rate: £172.98 per day
Hours: 8:30am – 3:30pm
Contract: September Start - Full Academic Year

About the Role

Ready to teach what you love?
Whether your passion is Welsh, Maths, Drama, Science, PE, or any other subject, this is your opportunity to bring your enthusiasm to the classroom and inspire the next generation!

We’re excited to be recruiting a vibrant, dedicated, and adaptable Secondary Teacher to join one of our fantastic partner secondary schools in the Newport area. This school is well-known for its warm, welcoming atmosphere, strong pastoral support, and commitment to helping every student thrive academically, socially, and personally.

In this role, you’ll be teaching across Key Stages 3 and 4, with potential opportunities to support Key Stage 5 depending on your subject expertise. You’ll plan and deliver engaging, creative, and dynamic lessons that follow the national curriculum and spark curiosity, confidence, and a genuine love for learning.

The school champions teamwork, professional development, and fresh ideas, making it a brilliant environment for both Early Career Teachers and seasoned educators.

Whether you’re seeking full-time or flexible part-time work, we’d love to hear from enthusiastic teachers ready to make a real impact in our schools!

What We’re Looking For

We welcome applications from individuals who:

  • Have experience—or are eager to gain experience—teaching in a secondary school setting (KS3 and KS4 essential; KS5 desirable)
  • Can plan, prepare, and deliver high-quality lessons aligned with the national curriculum
  • Create an inclusive, supportive, and engaging learning environment for all learners
  • Demonstrate strong classroom management, behaviour strategies, and confident communication skills
  • Show commitment to student progress, wellbeing, and achievement
  • Have a genuine passion for education and want to make a positive, lasting impact

Requirements

To be considered for the role, you will need:

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS), or be in the process of completing your teacher training/induction

If you don’t yet have all the necessary documentation, Teaching Personnel can support you in obtaining:

  • Registration with the Education Workforce Council (EWC)
  • An Enhanced DBS registered on the Update Service
  • Level 2 Safeguarding training
  • Minimum two recent professional references covering 24 months

Why Work with Teaching Personnel?

At Teaching Personnel, we do more than place teachers in classrooms—we support your education career every step of the way. When you join us, you gain access to:

  • Competitive daily pay, paid weekly
  • A dedicated personal consultant offering ongoing guidance and access to local school placements
  • Free CPD-accredited training, including behaviour management, safeguarding, SEN support, and more
  • A wide selection of temporary, long-term, and permanent roles across our network of partnership schools
