I am working with an education provider who are looking for an experienced Management Accountant to start work ASAP. The role is full time, on site in Ashton-under-Lyne (free parking) and will run for 6-8 weeks initially. The role is paying £23.36 PAYE p / h + holiday pay of £3.40 p / h (£26.76 in total) or £30.77 via an umbrella company. The role : Ensure that all assets and liabilities of the organisation are accounted for on an accurate and timely basis and all statutory and monthly reporting is carried out to deadlines set.Provide timely and accurate information for the senior leadership team as and when requested.To work with the Head of Finance to maintain, develop and improve financial accounting and financial management systems and information.Assist in the preparation of annual budgets, financial forecasting and internal budget management.Support the year end processes and auditLead on the financial support for Externally funded projectsLine Manage and develop Financial Colleague(s) and support the Payroll and Pensions process.Key responsibilitiesTo be responsible for producing highly accurate Management Accounts including completion of all balance sheet reconciliations and variance analysis. Ensuring all control accounts are reconciled and routine balance sheet reconciliations are carried out. Retaining control and accuracy of the organisation's Assets and Liabilities. Liaising with the Head of Finance for board reports and key risk and opportunities.To prepare, analyse and distribute meaningful monthly budget holder statements, load budgets and reforecasts into the system and report back to the Head of Finance any known risks or overspends.To meet a portfolio of budget holders periodically to review and provide financial support and training. To provide support or arrange financial training to Colleagues as necessary.To support the Payroll Officer with the monthly Payroll and Pensions processes and provide cover as appropriate.Essential qualifications, skills & knowledgeLiteracy and Numeracy to at least Level 2AAT qualifiedWorking towards professional accountancy qualification or QBEKnowledge of Education fundingUnderstanding of general key financial regulations and proceduresKnowledge of financial accounting and budgeting principlesHave detailed knowledge and understanding of a variety of computerised management information systems.As the organisation is looking for someone to hit the ground running we need applications to come from people who are experienced Management Accountants with Education sector experience.
