Azure Engineer / Consultant

About the role :

In response to our continued high-growth trajectory, Sword’s Digital Platforms Team, have a new opening for an experienced and motivated Azure Engineer / Consultant to support our clients requirements.

As a Digital Platforms Azure Engineer, you will be working within a fast-growing team of Microsoft Cloud Engineers, Consultants and Architects working across a variety of projects and managed services engagements supporting our clients in delivering innovative solutions.

Duties of the role include all key Azure Infrastructure SME aspects such as involvement across the full Cloud adoption lifecycle, including high level discovery, architecture, design, and build out of Azure platforms to host a wide range of data, application services, and infrastructure.

Requirements

Here are the key skills and experience relevant to this role :

Your primary objective will be to provide Azure SME knowledge and experience to our clients and a variety of engagements.

• Designing and deploying and supporting a range of Azure solutions
• Maintain and evolve solutions and service levels within key strategic Managed Service customers
• Develop and maintain strong relationships with clients, understanding their business needs, and identifying opportunities for further collaboration
• Work closely with others in the team to identify opportunities and leverage existing capabilities to deliver end-to-end solutions to clients
• Stay up to date on the latest Azure technology changes and be an advocate for Digital Platforms within the business and with clients
• Build strong relationships with clients through quality execution and personable advice and guidance to become a trusted advisor and drive long-term business relationships
• Good experience and background of producing high quality documentation and solution artefacts
• Good understanding of software development lifecycle and methodologies such as Agile and DevOps
• Experience in planning and migrating from on-premises or Cloud to Microsoft Azure using tools such as ASR, Azure Migrate and data migration assistant etc.
• Experience and knowledge with Virtual Machines, Virtual Networking, VPN’s, ASR, Azure Backup, Azure SQL, Storage, App Services, Azure Monitor, Policy, Security Centre, Log Analytics, Azure Automation (Bicep & ARM etc.), Azure cost modelling and aligning to CAF and WAF
• Good understanding of Cloud Adoption principles
• Experience in administering and good understanding of networking, security, virtualisation and on premises infrastructure in general
• Good understanding of other Cloud vendors and their offerings
• Microsoft certifications and accreditations in Azure such as AZ-900, AZ-104, AZ-700, AZ-140, AZ-500 desirable
• Experience and knowledge of AWS beneficial
