We are actively looking for a Vessel Operator to join our Team!
The Vessel Operator main purpose is to support the Chartering Team with tender activities as needed and manages all pre- and post-fixture operations, with a strong emphasis on commercial execution, reporting, administration, and ensuring client satisfaction
Responsibilities
- Tender Support – supports all the activities and documentation as required to prepare, submit, and manage bids
- Contract Planning & Execution – pre and post fixture related duties in cooperation with the Chartering Team and other departments.
- Communication & Coordination – liaise with other Departments, the Vessels, Charterers, Brokers and Agents as point of contact concerning vessel operations
- Customer focus – ensure that client needs and expectations are met
- Reporting & Administration – provide reports on commercial and vessel performance
- Supports tender and sales activities by handling relevant administrative tasks
- Complete Vessel Specifications and Questionnaires, compile Certificates and Performance Data to support tendering activities
- Monitors compliance with contractual terms and conditions, reporting any deviations or discrepancies
- Provides support and guidance to the on-board management team regarding contractual obligations and operational requirements
- Handles Notices (i.e. NOR) as required under the contract
- Prepares and issues voyage instructions
- Coordinates and appoints Shipping Agencies in cooperation with other Departments
- Collaborates with other departments to plan and coordinate maintenance and repair schedules (including surveys, inspections, etc.) to minimize downtime and ensure vessel readiness
- Oversees the daily operations of vessels, ensuring alignment with client expectations and adherence to operational schedules
- Maintains real-time updates on vessel operational status and schedule
- Prepares operational reports and instructions, including Bunker Orders / instructions, agency appointments, fact sheets, and other related documentation
- Maintain databases (e.g. Employment Cover, Voyage Records, Chartering Opportunity List etc.)
- Acts as a point of contact for clients concerning vessel operations, ensuring in close cooperation with the Chartering Managers and / or Commercial Team Lead that client needs and expectations are consistently met
- Resolves operational issues or conflicts with clients in a timely and professional manner
- Assists and supports dispute resolution and claims handling in close coordination with the Commercial Excellence Manager
Qualifications
Educated Shipping Clerk / Commercial educationExperience in related field within an international shipping company preferredStrong attention to detail, high level of accuracy and organizational skillsAbility to work in a fast-paced multinational and multicultural environment.Ability to work in Microsoft Projects would be a plus.Fluent in English and German (would be a plus)Our Commitment
