We are currently seeking an experienced Mechanical Project Manager to join a large, high-profile mechanical project in London. The successful candidate will have a strong background in managing mechanical building services projects, with excellent procurement skills and a solid understanding of energy centres and plant rooms.
Key Responsibilities
Manage the delivery of mechanical works from pre-construction through to handover
Lead procurement activities, including subcontractor packages, materials, and plant
Oversee design coordination, programme planning, and cost control
Manage energy centres and plant room installations, ensuring technical and quality compliance
Coordinate site teams, subcontractors, and consultants
Ensure works are delivered safely, on time, and within budget
Monitor progress, quality, and compliance with specifications and drawings
Liaise with clients, consultants, engineers, and senior management
Manage commissioning, testing, and final handover documentation
Requirements
Proven experience as a Mechanical Project Manager on large-scale projects
Strong procurement and commercial awareness (essential)
Good understanding of energy centres, plant rooms, and centralised mechanical systems
Ability to read and interpret mechanical drawings, specifications, and programmes
Strong leadership, communication, and organisational skills
Strong focus on health & safety, quality, and programme delivery
Relevant mechanical qualification (NVQ / HNC / HND / Degree in Building Services or equivalent)
SMSTS (preferred)
CSCS card (required)
