1 : 1 SEND Teaching Assistant | Chesterfield (S43) | Take home £420-£450 per week (After deductions) | Full Time | September 2025

About the Role

  • Provide 1 : 1 support for a pupil with high SEN needs, including autism and behavioural challenges
  • Follow and implement individualised education plans
  • Work collaboratively with teachers, SENCOs, and therapists
  • There is a high staff to student ratio typically 5-6 students per class.
  • Support during transitions, breaktimes, and unstructured parts of the day to ensure consistency
  • Work alongside our experienced team which includes specialist teachers, teaching assistants, therapist and counsellors.
  • About You

  • A passion for supporting children with autism and behavioural difficulties
  • Previous experience in SEN settings (special schools, PRUs, SEN units), or a background in youth work, care, or mental health support
  • Background in supporting core subjects as well assisting with practical subjects such as cooking and various sporting activities
  • Calm, patient, and resilient approach, with a deep understanding of behaviour as communication
  • Strong interpersonal skills, team player, and willingness to grow professionally through feedback and training
  • Must hold a minimum of a L3 qualification preferably in the relevant field.
