Position : Regional Soft Services FM Manager
Location : Covering services in the Southern Region which includes mainly West Sussex and London Area
Salary Package : £54,700 D.O.E (Plus discretionary EOT bonus tax free)
Car Allowance : £385 pcm
Hours : 37.5 per week
Contract : Full time, permanent
The Role
Reporting to the Head of Hotel Services, you will oversee, support & guide the Catering & Domestic teams across the Shaw Healthcare business, in conjunction with the Care Home & Operations Management Teams, ensuring high standards and the best possible Foodservice, Quality & Cleanliness is consistently achieved and maintained at all times. This includes ALL Catering, Domestic Cleaning & Laundry operations.
Main Duties
Catering
To ensure “Shaw Minimum Mealtime Standards” are achieved at all times, providing a great service with fine meals, well-presented, fresh, clean, attractive and well-furnished surroundings that underpin excellent care and make mealtimes a highlight for residents.
- Support Care staff in excellent Food Presentation & Mealtime experience for service users
- Identify, prepare and implement improvement plans
- Identify training requirements and implement in conjunction with Shaw Training Department
- Ensure compliance with legislation in all aspects of Food Safety
- Responsible for Shaw Food Safety Policy and updating as appropriate
- Monitor food spend against budgets and occupancy levels; provide support to Homes ensuring quality meals with cost control
- Monitor food waste with a focus on minimising / reducing
- Provide expert advice & guidance on Homes menus / recipes, including :
- Average daily nutrients achieved
- Allergens
- IDDSI processes and procedures
- Lead and support on Menu & Recipe Software System
- Support and guide Shaw Kitchen teams to provide the best possible foods for Shaw Residents
- Ensure Kitchen Teams follow best practice & legal requirements in all aspects of Foodservice & Food Safety
Cleaning (Inc Laundry)
To ensure all Shaw Homes continually improve and maintain the highest standards of cleanliness, contributing to a homely and welcoming environment for Residents, Staff & Visitors at all times.
Provide expert guidance & support to Home Management & Domestic Teams with attention to efficiencies, cleaning practices, infection control, use of equipment & chemicals, COSHH, and resident safetyReview cleaning processes and auditing tools to ensure compliance with NHS Cleaning Standards 2021Monitor cleaning, laundry supplies & supplier spends to control costs and adhere to budgetsEssential Criteria
Healthcare experience in Catering (Private and / or NHS)Experience managing and controlling large budgetsKnowledge and application of current Food Hygiene legislationExcellent working knowledge of HACCPFood production knowledge gained through supervisory / management experienceExperience of multi-site and geographically dispersed operationsExperience and knowledge of Infection Control practices / proceduresDesirable Criteria
Knowledge and experience of PFI and / or Local Authority Contract complianceTeam leadership to support and guide a skilled and motivated workforceResults-driven : quality and process-oriented mindset with a focus on measurable outcomesSeniority level
