1:1 Teaching Assistant

Overview

Your responsibilities will include:

• Providing individualised support tailored to the child's needs
• Managing and de-escalating challenging behaviour using proactive strategies
• Supporting the child's learning across curriculum subjects
• Helping the pupil develop emotional regulation and social skills
• Working collaboratively with the class teacher, SENDCo, and external professionals
• Maintaining clear communication with the school team regarding progress, challenges, and strategies
• Contributing to a positive, nurturing learning environment

• Experienced in working with children with complex SEND or behavioural needs
• Confident and skilled in behaviour management
• Calm, patient, and resilient
• Able to build trusting relationships through consistency and positive reinforcement
• Adaptable and solution-focused
• A team player who can follow guidance whilst using initiative

Teaching Assistant qualifications (e.g., Level 2 or Level 3) are desirable, but strong relevant experience will also be considered.
