  • Market Harborough Urgent Care Centre, St Lukes Hospital, 31 Leicester Road, Market Harborough, Leicestershire, LE16 7BN
  • Hinckley & Bosworth Community Hospital, Ashby Road, Hinkley, Leicestershire, LE10 3DA

Main duties of the job

Your typical day :

  • To practice autonomously without direct supervision across the four pillars of advanced practice of clinical practice, leadership and management, education and research.
  • To utilise advanced clinical skills to assess, diagnose, treat and refer patients requiring the clinical service.
  • To recognise the need for, initiate and where appropriate interpret relevant diagnostic investigations.
  • To recognise the need for and initiate where appropriate advice of relevant specialisms.
  • To exhibit excellent nonverbal and verbal communication skills when dealing with patients and carers, making clear decisions with confidence and communicating these effectively.
  • To maintain appropriate clinical records in line with current practice guidelines.

    • To be a successful Advanced Practitioner :

  • Registered Adult Nurse registered with the Nursing & Midwifery Council (NMC), Paramedic registered with the Health Care Professions Council (HCPC) or Pharmacist registered with the General Pharmaceutical Council (GPhC).
  • Registered as an independent non-medical prescriber.
  • Educated to Masters level award or equivalent.
  • Substantial Autonomous practice working in a multi-professional team.
  • Can demonstrate a broad and sound knowledge of complex and common conditions in primary care in both adults and children.
  • Has experience in one of the following : nurse-led clinics, emergency care centres, out of hours facilities or walk-in centres.
  • Consolidated Independent Prescribing experience.

    • Job responsibilities

    Person Specification

    Experience

  • A minimum of 2 modules at level 7, including assessment of clinical examination skills and non-medical prescribing.
  • Substantial autonomous practice, working in a multi-professional team.
  • Can demonstrate a broad and sound knowledge of complex and common conditions in primary care in both adults and children.
  • Right to work in the UK.

    • Qualifications

  • Registered Adult Nurse (NMC), Paramedic (HCPC), or Pharmacist (GPhC). Registered as an independent non-medical prescriber.

    • Disclosure and Barring Service Check
