Overview

Job title : Community Supervisor (One Year Fixed-term)

Employer : TES FE News

Contract : Fixed-term one year, 37 weeks per year, term-time only. Hours : 4.5 hours per day (11 : 00am–4 : 00pm), Monday to Friday. Lunch break : 2 : 35pm–3 : 05pm. Salary : £15 per hour. Start date : September 2025. Closing Date : Wednesday, 1 October 2025.

Responsibilities

Support the safety, wellbeing and behaviour of students during school hours, including supervising wet lunchtimes.
Follow school policies and safeguarding procedures; work in line with health and safety regulations.
Act on own initiative when appropriate and be able to work as part of a team.
Maintain confidentiality at all times and promote a positive, welcoming school environment.
Take responsibility for a class during designated supervision times as required.
Be accountable to the Estates & Operations Director / Vice Principal.

Requirements / Ideal Candidate

Strong attention to detail and the ability to follow regulations and processes.

Ability to be firm but fair and to act on own initiative.

Commitment to the ethos of high expectations and delivery; focus on student safety and wellbeing.

Good attendance and ability to work well in a team.

Knowledge of safeguarding, meal supervision and behaviour policies; ability to implement school policies locally.

Ability to take responsibility for a class during wet lunchtimes; high expectations of children’s behaviour.

Experience in a school environment is advantageous but not required.
