At the heart and soul of London since 1895 West Ham United is a dynamic, fan-focused football Club constantly moving forward but always with an eye on the past.

Our home at the London Stadium has a capacity of 62,500 making it one of the biggest club Stadia in the country however our tickets are the lowest priced for London based clubs in the Premier League, echoing objectives to create Affordable Family Football.

In 2018, our Women's team gained a professional status for the very first time, jumping 2 divisions and competed in the Women's Super League (WSL), the premier division of women's football in England. After finishing a respectable 7th, the team enjoyed particular success in the FA Cup reaching the final of the competition, eventually being beaten by 2017 winners Manchester City.

In April 2019, we opened our brand-new Academy facility based at Chadwell Heath which will help to bring through some of the very best talents in the area, the recent emergence of First Team Players Declan Rice and Ben Johnson are a testament to the work already being done at the Academy.

On the business side, we are continuing to create a Stadium our supporters can call home, with the renaming of the Billy Bonds Stand and Claret and Blue pitch surrounding amongst the latest developments. Additionally, the Club has achieved the Disability Confident Leader status.

Position

This Partnership Manager role, reporting to the Partnerships Lead, will be crucial in the successful delivery of activations and campaigns for West Ham United.

The West Ham United Partnerships team carry out a diverse range of activities to ensure the club is fulfilling its obligations to the existing partnership portfolio. As a result, we are looking for a candidate that is truly excited and focused on helping our partners achieve their goals. The successful candidate will be required to work irregular hours including weekends and bank holidays.

Working closely with the Partnerships Lead and wider commercial team, the Partnership Manager will be responsible for building and maintaining relationships with the Club’s partners ensuring effective rights delivery. Manage the full delivery of commercial rights, Coordinate and manage internal stakeholders to integrate sponsorship programmes into their plans and Research and plan new programmes to deliver against client briefs.

Additionally, the successful candidate will support on the delivery of partnerships that span both the men’s and women’s side where necessary.

Requirements

Key Responsibilities

  • Management and delivery of commercial rights
  • Day-to-day account management of Club’s partners
  • Creation, development and execution of marketing and activation plans
  • Management of partner experiences (Play on the Pitch, Watch the Team Train, Live the Life of a Player)
  • Delivery of matchday inventory and obligations
  • Delivery of player and ambassador appearances
  • Implement research and measurement programmes that demonstrate ROI to partners
  • Creation and presentation of effective reporting materials
  • Agency management
  • Develop relationships with key internal and external stakeholders as well as senior officials, governing bodies and C-level executives
  • Assisting the business development team by creating case studies and supplying appropriate data and insight
  • Assist in ideation and development of new commercial assets
  • Maintain knowledge of the latest industry standards and activity
  • Develop and manage relationships with industry influencers and external talent

  • Skills and Experience

  • Ideally be a graduate (or equivalent) with a proven marketing / partnerships background
  • At least 4 years of relevant sports marketing / partnership delivery experience
  • Experience of managing a rights delivery programme, preferably in a sporting rights environment
  • Comfortable with collating, manipulating and presenting data
  • Strong communication skills and ability to build relationships with colleagues and clients
  • Excellent understanding of the football market
  • Excellent account and project management skills
  • Strong organisational skills and attention to detail
  • Excellent Microsoft Office skills
  • Self-reliance, drive, energy, innovation, creativity and a strong focus on delivery
  • A passion for sport and entertainment
  • Able to travel occasionally, with regular weekend work and occasional evening work
