Main duties of the job

As a Senior Care Assistant, you will support and work alongside the Care team to deliver high standards of personal care, providing a safe, caring, and inclusive environment for residents, visitors and staff. Your responsibilities will include monitoring the wellbeing of each resident, being involved in the person-centred care planning process, supporting residents with their medication requirements, and undertaking staff supervisions.

ABOUT THE ROLE

Your focus as a Senior Care Assistant is to support and work alongside the Care team to deliver high standards of personal care, creating a safe, caring, innovative, open, supportive, and inclusive environment for residents, visitors and staff.

Other responsibilities will include :

  • Monitoring the wellbeing of each resident, noting changes impacting care and care plans, ensuring new needs are met, and updating written records accordingly.
  • Being involved in the person-centred care planning process, implementing, monitoring, and undertaking monthly evaluations.
  • Supporting residents with their medication requirements.
  • Undertaking staff supervisions and supporting staff development where required.
  • Being a key point of contact for residents, relatives, visitors, and health and social care professionals, ensuring reasonable requests are acted upon and concerns or complaints are escalated as needed.

About you

To be successful, you will demonstrate caring, supportive, honest, respectful, and accountable values in all that you do.

Our ideal candidate must :

  • Have an NVQ Level 3 (or equivalent) in care for care homes.
  • Have 2 years of experience working in a similar care environment.
  • Have the ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing.
  • Have a positive attitude toward supporting and nurturing residents and staff.
  • Be responsive and flexible to cover a range of responsibilities.

    Qualifications

  • To be successful in this role, you will need an NVQ 3 or equivalent in care for care homes, 2 years' experience in a similar care environment, and the ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing. You should also have a positive attitude towards supporting and nurturing residents and staff, and be responsive and flexible to cover a range of responsibilities.
