Provide Mechanical Engineering input into the design and development of company products and projects, liaising with subject matter experts, customers and suppliers on all technical issues relating to system design.
Senior Mechanical Engineer will be based at our Barnstaple site. This role allows for flexible working.
The salary for this role is up to £55k, depending on experience.
What you’ll be doing
Mechanical Design & Development (80%)
Complete engineering designs using SEA approved tools (Solidworks)
Understand other SEA tools that support Mechanical content delivery (e.g. Altium, Zuken)
Build and test prototype equipment to support project delivery
Produce design documentation, including design specifications, test specifications and any required supporting documents for a Manufacturing Data Pack (MDP)
Produce stress calculations to support design work, using a combination of first principles, design codes and FE analysis
Manage the design Manufacturing Data Pack
Work with production engineering teams to create & maintain standard operating procedures / build instructions for designed products
Support SEA products during manufacturing, assembly, testing, installation, and through service life
