Position Purpose
Senior Project Managers are leaders in the Projects group, focused on project delivery through a developing team of Project Managers and Associate Project Managers. With a commitment to external and internal customers, Senior Project Managers optimize project planning and execution for unique Markets, guided by the TAIT Project Process. With the support of Projects leadership, the position participates in Bidding and Development of new opportunities within their Market focus and establishes core teams as projects approach confirmation.
Senior Project Managers build on excellence as a Project Manager, demonstrating their mastery of managing Scope, Schedule, and Budget, finding success by leading high performance teams that exhibit TAIT’s Leadership and Inclusive Culture framework. At their best, Senior Project Managers favour leadership through context, while relying on select moments for command-and-control engagement. As relationships in, and mastery of, unique Markets are established, Senior Project Managers begin with a small team and limited portfolio, including allocated resources from other disciplines, expanding their influence as Projects successfully deliver the outcomes of Happy Team, Happy Customer, and at a Margin.
Responsibilities
Project Oversight
- Support project teams in planning and delivery, grounded in the TAIT Project Process
- Lead or coach development of project budgets, budget monitoring, tracking, and reporting
- Lead or coach project team check-ins, including critical evaluation of scope, schedule, and budget progress
- Guide project teams to leverage subject matter experts, Technical Leads, and Functional leaders
- Facilitate project team collaboration to overcome challenges while maintaining appropriate quality levels
- Coordinate project team resources and resolve priorities in conjunction with Functional leaders
- Ensure Local and Global leaders are aware of high risk or complexity project progress
Active Project Management
