Vehicle Technician and MOT Tester

MOT & Service Technician required to join our clients dealership in Stevenage, Hertfordshire

Salary DOE but in the region of £36k Basic + Bonus

Working hours : Monday to Friday 8 : 30am till 5 : 30pm Saturday on rota (1 in 3) 8am till 12pm

We are currently seeking an experienced Service & MOT Technician to join our clients team in Stevenage. The successful candidate will be responsible for performing routine maintenance, diagnostics, repairs, and MOT testing on a variety of vehicles. This position requires strong technical skills, attention to detail, and a commitment to delivering excellent service to our customers.

Responsibilities :

Conduct routine maintenance and repairs on vehicles, including but not limited to brake and suspension repairs, engine diagnostics, and electrical system repairs.

Perform MOT tests in compliance with relevant regulations and standards.

Diagnose and troubleshoot mechanical and electrical issues efficiently.

Complete service and repair documentation accurately and in a timely manner.

Maintain a clean and organized work environment.

Communicate effectively with colleagues and customers regarding vehicle repairs and maintenance recommendations.

Requirements :

• Proven experience as a Service & MOT Technician in an automotive service environment.
• Relevant qualifications (e.g., NVQ Level 3 or equivalent) in vehicle maintenance and repair.
• MOT Tester certification (Class 4) is essential.
• Strong diagnostic and problem-solving skills.
• Excellent attention to detail and a commitment to quality workmanship.
• Ability to work effectively as part of a team.
• Excellent communication and customer service skills.
• Valid driver's license.
