Our clients are looking to find a positive, energetic, patient & kind Nanny for their two children, G6 and B4.
The emphasis of the role will be on G6 who has some learning difficulties. She was diagnosed with a super rare genetic mutation. Although doing brilliantly, the family need someone super motivated to stay on the ball and make sure she is constantly progressing.
The ideal Nanny would have a background in education with some understanding of, or experience in SEN. The role will suit someone proactive and patient with a caring and positive approach.
Main duties include but are not limited to:
- Help with the morning routine including school drop off
- School pick up
- Homework help/support
- Liaising with specialists such as the Occupational Therapist to ensure interventions are being continued effectively at home
- Engaging the children in their preferred activities
- Creating a clear and consistent schedule
- Implementing firm boundaries around behaviours and completing tasks
- Taking children to/from appointments and sessions such as physiotherapy
- Preparing/cooking meals for the children (predominantly during holidays)
- Preparing the children for their bedtime routine - bath time included
- Aiding G6 in her key areas of development and coming up with strategies and ideas to do so
- Occasional evening babysitting
The family have a live-in Housekeeper, so no cooking or laundry required – just encouraging the children to keep their areas tidy.
There will also be lots of travel in this role including Australia and Switzerland! Around 4-5 months of the year will be abroad.
Essential Skills:
- Proactive and able to present examples of using initiative
- Ability to set and implement consistent and clear boundaries
- Enthusiastic and positive approach
- Highly organised
- Educated to Degree level (background in education)
- Comprehensive understanding and knowledge of Early Years & Key Stage One
- Experience delivering home-schooling/home-school support
- Ability to implement and work alongside therapies and interventions provided by specialists, eg Occupational Therapy, physio
