St John Ambulance works at the heart of communities, supporting and enabling them to access and receive physical and mental health first aid. We do this through developing and providing effective community response and outreach services (e.g., Ambulance response & Nighttime Economy) and using our longstanding expertise to empower people with vital clinical skills and the confidence to use them (e.g., our Volunteers and Community Advocates, NHS Cadets, and Young Responders programmes). There is also a buoyant social enterprise network which delivers first aid training and supplies medical consumables to businesses and consumers.

Job Summary

St John Ambulance provides First Aid and Medical Provision to thousands of events each year. You will be providing clinical care to patients presenting to St John Ambulance across our exciting and varied events portfolio. Our Event Healthcare Professionals will be providing pre-hospital care at a large range of exciting events such as music festivals, motoring, equestrian & sports events. You will be supported with modern equipment and vehicles, working alongside our volunteers and other employed St John people. This role will primarily involve shifts during sociable hours although some may be long in duration. You will be working alongside a blended team of SJA volunteers, event organisers, and other uniformed emergency services at events demonstrating clinical leadership and support. It is essential that you have experience in managing acutely unwell patients in the emergency setting, whether that be in an emergency department or pre-hospital.

About You

• Registered paramedic (Excl. NQP)
• Evidence of CPD activity within the last 12 months
• Educated to degree level or evidence of post-registration advanced study
• It is essential that you can evidence regular and recent experience in managing acutely unwell patients in the pre-hospital environment
• Experience of accessing and / or referring to alternative care pathways
