Job description

About the Role :

We are looking for an amazing .Net developer to help us on our journey building out our next generation, cloud-based market data platform.

The Realtime Data department is responsible for supplying the market data that powers the rest of Morningstar as well as our sizeable client base. We receive billions of messages per day from our direct Financial Exchange connections, which we process and distribute to our clients. As you can imagine, this requires a superb level of engineering to ensure it is done reliably and efficiently.

At the start of the year, we began building out the latest version of this platform, choosing a greenfield approach so that we could take advantage of the latest technologies, especially cloud. The role will be as a developer within this multi-functional team, working alongside teammates who specialize in QA, DevOps and Production Management.

Job Responsibilities :

Design and develop new features for the market data platform, taking requirements from design to production.

In collaboration with QA's, ensure a high level of automated testing is maintained.

Be passionate and help where required in modern software development techniques such as CI / CD, DevOps, automated testing, config-as-code, infra-as-code, etc.

Qualifications :

A bachelor’s degree or equivalent in Computer Science or a related field with a minimum of 5 years real-world experience

Strong knowledge of .Net development using C# and clean coding principles.

Willingness to work in other languages such as Java (although expertise not required will be given time to learn).

Good knowledge of development using CI / CD

Nice to have.

Experience with AWS

Financial markets knowledge
