Hays Recruitment are proud to be supporting a large Ofsted rated "Good" secondary school in Chester as they are looking to appoint a reliable and enthusiastic teaching assistant to support across Key Stage's 3 and 4. This is a long-term temporary contract starting from September 2024.

Your new role

In your new role you will be supporting pupils of mixed ability in all secondary year groups. You will work alongside the class teacher to promote a stimulating and engaging learning environment by utilising a myriad of behaviour management techniques. You will support your pupils on a 1 : 1 and group basis, offering intervention and booster sessions in core subjects to ensure that all students reach their full academic potential. You will build strong constructive relationships with teachers and student's alike.

What you'll need to succeed

To be considered in your application, you must have full "Right to Work" in the UK as well as a minimum of 40 days referenceable experience working with children and young people between the ages of 11 - 16 in the last 2 years, as well as :

• Knowledge of the KS3 and KS4 national curriculum
• The ability to take a pupil-centred approach to learning
• An NVQ Level 2 or equivalent qualification is advantageous but not essential
• Be able tomit to a full-time contract 5 days per week
