Job description

Job Description

Are you passionate about sustainability and the built environment? Our company offers an exciting role as a Senior Consultant in the Sustainability and Carbon team supporting with BREEAM Infrastructure / CEEQUAL projects as well as wider sustainability advisory projects. Collaborating with a diverse team, you'll contribute to impactful projects across various sectors, shaping a more sustainable future. With a commitment to your professional growth, you'll become a recognised expert in the field, influencing stakeholders, and making a meaningful difference in the world as you align your career with your values. Join us on this purpose-driven journey to create a greener and more sustainable built environment.

If this sounds like you, or you’re curious to learn more, then this role could be the perfect opportunity. Join our Sustainability and Carbon team within the Environment and Health department as our new Senior Consultant and work with us to close the gap to a sustainable future.

Your new role

As our new Senior Consultant you will lead projects with confidence and embrace continuous learning to excel in your technical field. This role is about innovation, effective project management, and fostering strong client relationships with clients who strive for excellence in sustainability.

Your key responsibilities will be to :

  • Plan, undertake, coordinate, and supervise BREEAM Infrastructure / CEEQUAL projects, including managing client relationships, project budgets, and team resources across a portfolio of projects within the public and private sectors.
  • Work alongside our engineering, building, transport and other teams as required to support client projects.
  • Engage in wider sustainability projects that could include sustainability services, whole life carbon assessments, LCA’s and carbon reporting.
  • Serve as a positive team member, embodying Ramboll's expected behaviours.
  • Support training and knowledge sharing with junior staff.

Your new team

You will be part of our Sustainability and Carbon team within the UK Environment and Health business unit. We provide services in corporate net zero strategy, science-based targets advisory, carbon data management, energy efficiency, sustainability and climate risk, biodiversity net gain, natural capital, EHS management, impact assessment, health sciences, air quality, BREEAM Infrastructure and due diligence to diverse clients in various sectors. We have a collaborative and supportive team culture that encourages initiative, teamwork, and continual improvement in all aspects of our work. You will work within our small virtual team of just over 20 people but will have the opportunity to work and collaborate with multi-disciplinary teams including transport, marine and buildings across the Ramboll business.

About you

From the moment you start at Ramboll, we will support your personal and professional development so that you can continue to grow with the company. Whilst we look forward to supporting your continued learning and development, for this role we have identified some qualifications, skills, and capabilities that will set you up for success.

You will typically have three to five years’ experience and this could include the following areas :

  • Certified BREEAM Infrastructure / CEEQUAL Assessor and demonstrable experience of delivering or supervising BREEAM Infrastructure Assessor projects with experience of working alongside engineering designers and contractors.
  • Ideally wider understanding of sustainability and experience in one or more of the following sustainability skills : whole life carbon assessments, LCAs and Environmental Impact Assessments.
  • Excellent client and team engagement and relationship building experience with the ability to effectively communicate to internal colleagues and external clients.
  • Ideally be (or open to learn) proficient in preparing commercially effective proposals, tenders and deliverables.
  • Effective and collaborative project management skills to support managing projects on time and to budget.
  • Experience of writing and reviewing reports, including contributions to Environmental Impact Assessment (EIA) or Strategic Environmental Assessments.
  • Be able to demonstrate an ability to be flexible / adaptable and to learn new skills as you may be expected to work across multiple workstreams.
  • We recognise that some candidates only apply when they tick every box. However, passion and potential often outweigh a perfect resume and Ramboll’s supportive learning culture can help you grow. So if this role resonates with you but you don't meet all the requirements, we encourage you to apply. You might be the perfect fit for this opportunity or another within our team.

    What we can offer you

  • Flexible work environment including remote working options
  • 27 days annual leave plus bank holidays
  • Matched pension contributions
  • Private medical cover and life assurance
  • Investment in your development
  • Be valued for the unique person you are
  • The long-term thinking of a foundation-owned company
  • Work at the heart of sustainable change

Ramboll is a global architecture, engineering, and consultancy company. We believe that the purpose of sustainable change is to create a thriving world for both nature and people. So, that’s where we start – and how we work. At Ramboll, our core strength is our people, and our history is rooted in a clear vision of how a responsible company should act.
