Assistant Manager - Global Compliance & Transformation - Data & Technology

- Managed Services : provide compliance services to global clients across a range of tax, accounting, transfer pricing obligations under a managed service arrangement
- Technology : help clients leverage the right technology, tools and platforms to transform their tax function
- Tax Operating Model : collaborate with clients to build and operate a leading tax function, managing tax risk, opportunities, reputation and compliance
- Data Management : support client tax teams to maximise the use of data available in the organisation in order to effectively manage the Tax Function
Data & Technology
We are looking for talented Tax Transformation Assistant Managers with experience in one or more of the following areas, Technology Transformation (ERP), General Transformation and Tax Provision Technology.
Role & Responsibilities :
At Assistant Manager level you will :
Delivering global and large tax transformation and technology projects, often as part of a wider finance transformation programme, bringing in wider team as neededHelping clients design, build and deploy ERP and tax automation solutions which are designed for TaxSupport our clients to understand the importance of Tax, the optimal way to address tax requirements in their countries and the value that it can bringWork together with our other Tax Transformation colleagues as well as other groups in KPMG such as ConsultingHelp clients develop robust global governance and process frameworksDevelop our service offerings and service delivery modelsManage graduate trainees and oversee output from offshore resource in order to deliver client projectsEstablish and maintain strong client relationships with both existing and new clientsIdentify opportunities to identify additional services that the client may need and liaise with subject specialistsCoach and provide technical support for other team membersFollow KPMG best practice and policyKnowledge & Experience :
At assistant manager level you will be well organised and have excellent time management skills. You will proactivity and confidently challenge assumption, ask questions and demonstrate solutions focus. You will confidently communicate both in internally and with clients and have a willingness for personal and technical development.
Across GCT we would welcome applications from those qualified by experience, as well as ATT / CTA / ACA or equivalent qualifications. Project Management qualifications along with specific transformation skills (e.g. Lean Six Sigma) are also welcome. Further skills and experience are outlined below :
ERP Tax Transformation
Awareness of working in SAP finance and controlling modulesExperience in ERP finance and tax experience of configuring SAP S4 HANA,Knowledge of VAT determination engines and bolt-onsKnowledge of tax determination tools such as Vertex O-Series, Thomson Reuters OneSource Determination, or Meridian VAT Add-OnExperience in tax technology implementation, including requirements gathering from a tax, IT and users and creating and reviewing design documentationExperience of delivering large scale SAP ECC and S / 4 HANA finance and tax transformation implementationsAwareness or experience of key tax requirements for translation into SAP system design specificationsKnowledge and understanding of implementing SAP global tax management solutions like Tax compliance, Document Reporting and ComplianceAwareness of GL accounting, financial close and material ledgersAwareness of SAP Profitability and Performance Analysis (PaPM) module to implement tax use casesAble to review the SAP native tax configurationsTax Transformation
Ability to support tax transformation workshops – identifying and prioritizing key pain points, developing and supporting the implementation of technology roadmapDeep tax compliance, reporting and / or automation expertiseTax transformation experience, including tax governance, process design and improvementStrong understanding of key drivers in the tax transformation market be that BEPS Pillar 2, Making Tax Digital, E-Invoicing etcExperience in support clients on business case development for transformation projectsAbility to undertake technology scorecard and vendor assessments, presenting findings and recommendations back to clients in a clear and defined mannerAwareness or experience of tax and accounting compliance processes (e.g., Direct / Indirect tax returns, statutory accounting)Designing or implementing cloud-based practical applications from a tax perspectiveActing as a functionality translator, being the primary liaison between technology teams and tax teamsTax Provision Technology
Understanding of group tax reporting processes and experience with current state process review and design of new / updated processes for multinational groupsKnowledge of the third party tax provision solution marketPractical hands-on experience with the end-to-end implementation of at least one established third party tax provision solution, ideally Longview Tax Provision, Thomson Reuters OneSource Tax Provision or Oracle Tax Reporting Cloud; alternatively, highly experienced users / administrators of existing builds of these systems who wish to gain implementation experience will be consideredExperience of taking a leading role on projects involving technology implementation or changeFunctional knowledge of IFRS and / or US GAAP tax accounting, including tax consolidationAwareness of drivers for change in group tax reporting processes, including the interaction between tax provision and BEPS Pillar 2Professional accounting or tax qualification and / or experience working in an in-house tax team with tax reporting responsibilitiesExposure to popular ERP and consolidation systems (SAP, Oracle / HFM, Workday, Dynamics 365, etc.) would be an advantage
