We are recruiting Residential Support Workers to join a small, therapeutic children’s home supporting young people who have experienced trauma and neglect.
The home currently supports two young people, we are looking for staff to build strong, consistent and meaningful relationships within a calm and nurturing environment. The service has plans to expand, with two additional homes in registration, offering future progression opportunities.
About the Role
This is a therapeutic, trauma-informed setting where understanding behaviour as communication is key. You will play a vital role in helping young people feel safe, supported and empowered to thrive.
Shift Patterns
Day shifts : 8 : 00am – 8 : 00pm
Night shifts : 8 : 00pm – 8 : 00am
Flexible rota options available, 40 hours per week, including sleep-ins
Key Responsibilities
Provide emotional, practical and therapeutic support
Build long-term, trusting relationships with young people
Support daily routines, education and wellbeing
Respond calmly and appropriately to behaviour linked to trauma
Work collaboratively with colleagues and external professionals
Maintain a safe, nurturing and structured environment
What We’re Looking For
Experience working with children (residential care, schools, SEN, youth work, family support or similar)
Calm, caring, reliable and emotionally resilient approach
Strong understanding of trauma-informed care
Ability to reflect on practice and accept guidance and support
Commitment to building consistent, therapeutic relationships
Essential Requirements
Full UK driving licence and access to your own vehicle
Ability to work 40 hours per week, including sleep-ins
Enhanced DBS on the Update Service
