The role
As an Engineering Technician , you’ll have a role that’s out of the ordinary. You’ll be part of a skilled team responsible for regenerating Royal Navy Type 23 Frigates during deep maintenance periods. You’ll bring systems and equipment back to life - replacing the role traditionally held by sailors in the dockyard.
This is a hands-on, high-impact role for an experienced electrical and electronic, controls and instrumentation (EC&I) biased Technician / Engineer. Your technical expertise will directly contribute to national defence readiness. It’s a chance to grow your skills, work on complex marine systems, and be part of something bigger. You\'ll be responsible for a variety of dedicated electrical controls equipment, the ship\'s Main Motors and Converters, and hydraulic systems and equipment.
Day-to-day, you’ll maintain mechanical and electrical systems, report equipment status, and restore functionality through defect resolution.
This role is full time, 35 hours per week and is based on site at Devonport Royal Dockyard.

Security Clearance
The successful candidate must be able to achieve and maintain Security Check (SC) security clearance for this role.
