- Full-time, Permanent
- Working hours : 37.5 hours per week
- Salary : £37,000 per year (depending on experience)
- Location : International House, Pepper Road, Stockport, SK7 5BW
- Right to work in the UK required; we are unable to offer graduate or visa sponsorship.
Responsibilities
Provide high‑quality first and second‑line technical support to internal and external staff, ensuring a high level of customer service.Utilise IT Server Management (ITSM) ticketing systems to efficiently log, update and resolve incidents.Engage directly with end‑users (both face‑to‑face and remote) to diagnose and resolve hardware and software issues across servers, desktops, mobiles and peripherals.Participate in an out‑of‑hours on‑call rota to ensure continuous service delivery for critical operations.Oversee the IT infrastructure, including hardware, software and network components.Provide technical support and training to employees as needed.Maintain detailed IT documentation, including procedures and incident logs.Implement and maintain IT security best practices and compliance with UK regulations (GDPR, ISO 27001, etc.).Take a proactive approach to problem‑solving, taking full responsibility for issues from diagnosis through to resolution.Act as a strong team player, participating in stand‑ups and planning sessions to ensure team alignment.Demonstrate excellent verbal and written communication skills with the ability to explain technical concepts to non‑technical staff.Qualifications
Degree level in Computer Science / IT or equivalent industry experience.Minimum of 3 years experience in a second‑line support position.Strong knowledge of Windows client and server operating systems, Microsoft 365, Active Directory, Group Policy and standard enterprise applications.Understanding of network concepts (VLANs, switching, routing) and firewalls (Fortinet).Competent with virtualization technologies (Hyper‑V) and cloud platforms (Azure / AWS).Familiarity with PowerShell or command‑line tools.Full UK driving licence.Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to explain technical concepts to non‑technical staff.Ability to work in a team environment, under pressure and meet deadlines.Commitment to continuous professional development.Benefits
