Electrical / Electronic Engineer – Newcastle Upon Tyne

£35,000-£50,000 per annum (DOE)

Jackson Hogg is delighted to be working with a global engineering manufacturer in the appointment of an Electrical / Electronic Engineer to join their high-performing R&D team.

Responsibilities

• Develop and translate customer or internal specifications into structured work packages and designs.
• Design, develop, and validate electrical / electronic systems for industrial applications.
• Perform circuit-level simulations, fault-finding, and verification / validation (V&V) in both lab and field settings.
• Support prototyping, product testing, compliance activities (e.g. CE, UL, UKCA), and EMC / EMI testing.
• Produce and maintain documentation including schematics, test plans, and validation reports.
• Collaborate with stakeholders across quality, procurement, manufacturing, and engineering teams.
• Provide technical support for existing product ranges and contribute to new product introduction (NPI).
• Participate in design reviews, risk assessments (e.g., FMEA), and continuous improvement initiatives.
• Lead technical problem-solving, mentor peers, and contribute to innovation roadmaps.
