Senior Testing Engineer (Principles) IRSE 1.3.180, 1.3.170 The Rail Engineering Projects Testing and Commissioning Team is an exciting and growing team, eager to grasp modern systems, processes and concepts, within the regulatory framework that we are required to work. We are seeking a motivated and organised person to join us and manage the principles testing of projects of all types, sizes and complexities. You will need to be able to demonstrate an ability to work under pressure and to use initiative whilst working within a highly regulated environment. Do you have excellent organisation skills and the ability to communicate with staff at all levels? Do you have extensive experience, knowledge and understanding of signalling Basics and and how to test for compliance with them on a wide variety of interlocking? Reporting to the Testing and Commissioning Engineer (Principles), the work is split between fixed office based design workstation testing and site based on projects and as such there may be a requirement to lodge away for extended periods of time and to work unsocial hours. You must hold a full UK driving Licence.

Requirements :

• Experience in Railway Signalling Testing / Commissioning of any size of Projects.
• Principles and Functional Tester IRSE Licence.
• Thorough and detailed knowledge of Network Rail Signal Works Testing Handbook.
• Thorough and detailed knowledge of fundamentals testing requirements.
• A1 IRSE assessor for Principles Testing (desirable).
• Substantial Railway Signalling experience especially in Rules of signalling testing of Computer Based Interlocking schemes.
• Conventional free-wired and / or geographical systems knowledge (desirable).
• Good knowledge of Railway Group NWR company standards requirements.
• Good personnel management and communication skills.
• Able to work under pressure during intense periods of commissioning etc.
• Current Driving Licence.
• Able to deputise for the Testing & Commissioning Engineer (Principles).
• Willing to work flexibly and efficiently in support of the project.
• Able to contribute to the management team to provide the development and future direction for the testing group.
